Man... I just got one thing to say: This thread is a load of BULLSHIT!

Sabin: Get your facts straight. Every american aren't capitalistic bastards, just as not all russians are communists.

Someone mentioned liberalism and conservatism.

Liberalism = When you want the individual to be completely free, without gov. interference.

Conservatism means you do not oppose change, but you're against drastic changes.

And then there is Socialism. Socialism is about letting the state play as big part as possible. So Socialism is basicly the opposite thing to Liberalism.

Russia is a great nation, with a very fascinating history - But as any country, it has its flaws. During the cold war, Russia *did* use steroids to win contests. During those times, if there were Soviet vs US in any sports event, it was extremely important that any of those nations won. Any victory - no matter how small or big - counted. Kinda childish when you think about it, but those were the times then.

Anyways, right now, Russia has loads of problems to take care of. The democracy in Russia has just started to grow, and as any democracy it needs time to develop a good infrastructure and get police etc to work properly. Russia got a bad reputation, yes, but because they have proven themselves untrustworthy in the past, not because of anything else. It'll take time to get that trust back, but if Russia doesn't do anything stupid, eventually they will get it back. That's just the way the world works today.

And just so you know: I'm not American, or Canadian, or any of the sort. I'm Swede, and damn proud of it!!!!!
