FFVI(FF3) Character Roundtable Reunion

In honor of the 10th anniversary of Final Fantasy VI (aka FF3), I will be presenting a character tribute. Since a certain piano man decided to beat me to the punch on writing this, I had to change this paper focus. While we are still talking about the characters, it will now be a strange reunion of the cast with remarks about everyone favorite moments only told by the cast of the game. Enjoy.

Greeting, I am "The Host", a mysterious man who will guide you through this special reunion of the cast of Final Fantasy VI, also know as Final Fantasy 3. You must note that it been ten years since they last met, and while that is over one decade, you will be happy to know that they didn't age a day since. Or else Strago and Geshthal would rot in the ground. Anyway, this special will allow us audiences to relive the greatest moments our cast had to perform for game. To begin, let us introduce the lovely Terra Branford. Come on out dear.

Wow, look at all the audiences. I never knew there were so many fans of us.

Indeed, ten years since FFVI, and many people still flock to see the game where story and graphics first went hand and hand. Sure we had other good games since, but do they have the heart of Terra, the evil of Kefka, or the lameness of Ultros...no! So tell me Miss Branford, what was the moment that always standout in your mind when making this game?

First off, just call me Terra. Miss Branford makes me sound like I doing that scene with the orphans during the second act of the game.

Sounds like you didn't enjoy working with the kids?

Oh, I love working with the kids. They always wanted to tell me about their favorite toys. I just didn't like working with Pumabara. He was too in-character half the time, resulting in numerous wrecked sets and a few death threats. It was sad to hear that he passed away from a drug overdose three years ago.

His death was sad indeed, since he was set to appear as the main villain in Wild Arms 3. But enough about this depressing story. Tell us Terra, did you have a favorite moment when shooting this game?

Oh yeah, it would had to be the time that I revealed myself to be an esper. I tell you, Locke for a moment actually believe I really a monster and tried to set me on fire. True story.

Speaking of Locke, let bring him out. Would Locke Cole please come out here.

*walks out* Hello folks.

Hey Locke, long time no see.

Terra, I haven't worked with you since Secret of Evermore. Sheesh that gig was terrible, but at least the food was good.

I see you two still are friendly toward each other, even after the story about you believing Terra to be a esper during the scene on the Narshe mountaintop.

Well...you see, I was under a lot of stress that day, so when it came time to shoot the scene, I was a bit out of my mind. And it didn't help that we just finished the Army Battle scene with Kefka and the other cast members. I tell you...we had to reshoot that scene countless times because the other cast members failed to protect Banon. I mean look...couldn't we just told the director that Banon actually could fight.

I know what you mean Locke. I know you were shooting the scenes with Celes, but I have first hand proof that Banon could fight. He actually lasted against the ghosts that the director bought in to spice up the Narshe Cave scenes. Yet as soon we begin to shoot the mountain top...our director fails to remember that Banon was capable of fighting, so we lost many takes trying to make sure everyone stopped the guards on cue.

Might want to get the bottom of this story. Would Banon and Avris come out here now.

*walks on stage* Hey guys, it been a long time since I seen any of you...what I am doing again?

Banon, you and Arvis were going to tell us about the whole problem we had with the director over the snow fight...where Arvis?

Poor Arvis, he was tragically killed on the way to this show. I have a rather humorous clip of his demise if you want to see it.

I wonder if this explains why he never came on the set after the "Capture of Narshe" scene?

Don't know what, but I can certainly say that part of the game sucked. They cutted out my scenes afterwards, making Edgar and Sabin use some line about me getting poisoned.

Maybe you can talk that over with them right now. Sabin and Edgar Figaro, please come on the stage now.

*eyes Terra* Well hello there beautiful. It's been ten years, but like fine wine, you just get better by the years.

Looks like my brother still has his trademark bad come on.

Welcome Sabin and Edgar, I am sure you two have something to say about why Banon was cutted out before the end of Act 2.

Oh, that was Gestahl who wanted Banon fired. He kept saying that he would quit if Banon was still around when Tella...I mean Strago gets introduced.

Of course it didn't help that Geshtal gets written out of the story shortly afterwards.

It was sad to hear that Geshtal lost his fight against cancer. Was sad, because he was a great actor.

You know Terra, you sure bring up the bad news a lot. Might as well mention that Leo and Strago have died, since you might as well depress us some more, Terra.

Sorry "Host", it just that it feels better talking about Umaro, Arvis, Strago, and Gestahl in context of their best work.

Gestahl, who I never liked on set was still a great guy. He had many stories about his past work, like his starring role as the old king in Dragon Quest 1.

Well anyway, let bring out Celes since she was mentioned earlier and I starting to lost patience in this show.

Hi "Host", it been a great pleasure to appear with my fellow actors for this tribute. *whispers in Locke ear* Especially some who I keep in contact after the show.

Oh yeah, I forgot, how was your wedding, Celes Cole?

It was great, even so Locke kept getting sick on the boat.

Ugh...don't remind me of boats. It brings me back to the time we were shooting the scene before meeting Strago. I got sick so many times that the director actually wrote it into the script.

That wasn't a fun time, because I was still mad at you for taking my sandwich. But I got over it before we had to shoot the big death scene with Leo.

Hmmm...might as well ask Kefka to come out, since we are talking about the Leo death scene now.

Wahauuhauhauh. It's good to be back folks.

Kefka, it been so many years since we last saw you. How is it going?

It been going great, even so I am hoping that Square picks me up for "Kingdom Hearts 2". Sephiroth got called in for the first game, and I am ten times better then that mama boy.

Say Kefka, how hard was the scene where you fought Leo?

It was a tough shoot, because everyone was looking forward to my jokes, which I had worked very hard on that evening. But when it came time to shoot...they used my stunt double! I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate that stunt double. He got used again when I turned all angely at the end of the game!

That was your stunt double! That might had explain why the fight didn't seen as cool as the one we had on the bridge leading to Esper land.

The scene on the bridge...I loved that scene. It was great fighting again, even so I prefer my fight with Sabin and Shadow in the imperial camp. Now I tell you, I just love my waiter line...it was the best.

*walks in* Hmph, might as well come on the set when Kefka is talking about me.

Shadow! I thought you died!

You really think that minor accident during the climax would kill me!

It's good to see you again Shadow. Relm has been wondering if you were alive all these years.

Relm...how is she. I haven't spoken to her since the fight with the "Stunt Double" at the climax.

Why not ask her right now, Shadow. Relm Arroway, please come out now.

What...I was in the middle of fixing a burrito...dad! *jumps in Shadow's arm* It been ten years since I last saw you.

I know Relm, it been so long that I think that you didn't age one bit.

Um...the director gave me anti-growth pills. I can never age..this means I can never get my license or get out of school.

Don't worry, you can just call Setzer up on his cell phone. He could tell on his zeppelin to any place you want.

*walks on the set* Yeah, Miss Branford tell me in advance that I can transport you everywhere you want.

Keen gears, that is very nice of you guys...and Kefka.

Relm, you do know that me and Terra are not guys.

Sorry, it was just a joke.

Hehe, now let bring out our last two guest...Ultros and Seigfried.

That Zeigfried!

Sorry, let me say this again. "Let bring out last two guests...Ultros and Zeigfried".

That better. I don't like people confusing me with that loser thief from the first act.

But my script said that I was stealing those guardian statues for the real Seigfried. Yet you are Z-fried later on.

You know...I never understand why the name change.

It's a long story that I will tell right now...

Well we are out of time, so with everyone from Final Fantasy VI, let me say thank you. Maybe we will all meet in ten years for the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VI.
