Skill:

Rage - Gau uses the attack of an enemy he learned on the Veldt

Objective Overview:

Gau is sort of like a blue mage, but yet he isn't. He uses enemy attacks, but he learns them in a totally different way. There is an area in the world of FF6 called "The Veldt", where you meet this mysterious boy. When fighting on the Veldt, Gau can 'Leap' into enemies and learn an attack of them. Then, when Gau goes to attack, you choose the enemy you want him to mimic, and he'll attack with a specified attack. Some players love this, because it can get you free spells like "Fire 3", though occassionally Gau will just do a basic attack instead of the move. Some very good moves can be used for free with Rage, but there are a lot of very worthless ones too. Pick and choose your attacks right, and Gau can be a formidable opponent.

Zeppelin's Ultra-Biased, Unfair, Opinionated Overview:

Zeppelin's Rank: 13

I hate Gau too. Not as much as I hate Cyan, but I still hate him. He talks funny too. What a stupid kid. You might be looking at Gau's stats and going "holy shit those are high! What are you talking about zepp? This guy rules." But don't be deceived, because Gau can't attack or cast magic like other people anyway. All he can do is use his rage attacks. Not only that, but you can't even control him after you've chosen the rage, and he'll just keep on doing the same lame move for the entire battle. His "free" spells are usually about half as potent as the real ones too, so they aren't worth it. Gau cannot be equipped with weapons either, so his base attacks become useless by the end of the game. It might be fun to learn all his rages, but it just isn't worth it.
