Changes

Changes

Phantasy Star Collection really doesn't contain too many changes. Each game is a direct port of their original versions, made to fit onto a smaller screen, and each games music, graphics, and gameplay are the same.

Here are some of the changes that I found in the game.

Phantasy Star

Because of the smaller screen, the details in the dungeons look kinda crammed together. Like the lines on the bricks on the walls don't look straight like they do on the SMS version.

You can press the start button at any time of the game to pause the game. From there, you can either continue or quit and go back to the main PSC screen.

When you save, you switch to another screen that tells you to wait for it to save. Sometimes when you select the save option, the game will lock up and you'll have to turn off and turn on your machine again.

In the SMS version of Phantasy Star, there were 5 save slots, but in PSC there are only 3.

Phantasy Star II

Because of the smaller screen, when you enter the Jet Scooter, you might have 1/2 of it off the screen and 1/2 of it on the screen.

You can press the start button at any time of the game to pause the game. From there, you can either continue or quit and go back to the main PSC screen.

When you save, you will get a message that tells you that it is saving.

In the Genesis version of Phantasy Star II, there were 4 save slots, but in PSC there are only 2.

Phantasy Star III

Because of the smaller screen, the houses and the shops don't fit on the screen, and you will have to move to scroll to where you want to go.

You can press the start button at any time of the game to pause the game. From there, you can either continue or quit and go back to the main PSC screen.

When you save, you will get a message that tells you that it is saving.
